.--..-.--...--.-.--.-.-.-...-.-..---....-Newsflash!!! .--..-.--.....--.-.-.-.-...-.-..---....-

HI all,
In readiness for the big dance on Saturday, Tonight we are again scheduled for a caller's practice dance for our new callers who are having a wonderful time doing this! Tim and I called at a full dance floor in Spokane last Saturday, as did the new Spokane callers, and it was great fun! The room was packed, and there was a deaf woman on the floor for the first time, so the new callers rose to the occasion to help out with this, as did all on the dance floor.

Nora, our caller for this Saturday dance, is willing to have our new callers each call a dance. Tonight will be our last practice dance session unless there is an outcry for continuing this. We do need at least 8 willing dancers to make this work for the dances that have a diagonal chain, so please pop over to the attic this evening and join in. 7PM. (details below)

Thursday, March 19  7-9 PM NEW CALLER'S CONTRA DANCE NIGHT
Come out to dance at the Attic at 314 East 2nd St. Contra Dances taught and called by our newest callers who attended the calling workshops in Spokane. Our first evening this last thursday was lots of fun! If you'd like to learn dance in a smaller and less demanding setting, here's your chance. We're hoping for a good turnout of Contra dancers to help our new callers polish up their skills. All are most welcome to come find out what the new callers are working on. If you have written a new dance and want to try it out for the first time, come and bring it along, and we'll all give it a try.      This event is free, and we'll provide snacks.

If you have music, bring it along for those who may be able to read it... if not, that's ok, just come on up.  It's at 314 East Second St, just up from the Public Library here in Moscow. • We're happy to have Jon join us again in the Attic. He did a show for us there about a year and a half ago, and we had a wonderful time. Jon will be joined this time by a small ensemble featuring washboard percussion and perhaps auto harp or banjo. He's touring all over the west these next couple of months to promote his new CD "the dust will settle", which just came out about two weeks ago. He describes his music as folk 'with all of the rust and dust included'. You can check him out at www.joncrocker.com. This promises to be a fun show. So we'll see ya there!

    • What a lovely snowy evening for a concert! So far as we know Jon is coming our way to share his music this evening. We've got the pathways and stairs shoveled and the heat on! If he cannot get through, Annie has offered that any who show for the concert may come instead to her birthday party just a few blocks from the attic, and we can all walk over together. so come on out for the adventure.

(David says: "Snoqualmie pass was closed this morning so there's some doubt that Jon will be able to make it, even though we haven't heard one way or the other. So I might not drive very far for the concert, but if you're in town come on out and we'll see what happens.")
